How Bears Power is calculated
EMA[i] = close[i] × 2 ÷ (N + 1) + EMA[i − 1] × [1 − 2 ÷ (N + 1)]
Bears Power[i] = low[i] − EMA[i]
Version 1.0.0 follows the published MetaQuotes first-close EMA seed and smoothing factor. The EMA is based on entered close prices, while the current low supplies the reported difference.
The first reportable value begins at zero-based index N, matching the published source calculation start. A period of N therefore requires N plus one completed bars.
Assumptions and limits
- At least period plus one ordered high-low-close bars are required.
- Rows must be oldest to newest and use one symbol, timeframe and feed.
- The entered history and starting point affect the EMA and may differ from a platform buffer.
- Positive and negative values are displayed neutrally without a zero-line interpretation.
- The page emits no strength, trend, reversal, divergence, entry or exit label.

How to interpret the result
The negative value is the latest entered low minus the declared EMA. It is not a measured seller count or a forecast, and its sign does not create a short entry. EMA seed and available history can alter the result.
