Forex VPS Cost Calculator
Normalize a VPS subscription, billing term, one-time setup, monthly add-ons and annual software costs into comparable monthly, first-term and yearly amounts. Optional account and trade counts add allocation views without claiming that a host is suitable, reliable or profitable.
Enter one VPS cost scenario
Keep every amount in one currency and use the actual billing term. Current provider prices, discounts, taxes and refunds are not fetched.

How the VPS cost normalization works
First term = subscription + one-time setup + billing months × (monthly add-ons + annual software ÷ 12)
First year = 12 × monthly recurring + one-time setup
The subscription price is divided by its entered billing months. This makes a six-month, twelve-month or other term comparable on one monthly-equivalent basis without inventing a discount or renewal price.
Monthly add-ons can represent entered backup, monitoring, storage, support or other recurring infrastructure costs. Annual software can represent entered EA licences, data, security or tooling that the user has deliberately assigned to the hosted setup.
The one-time setup or migration amount appears in the first billing term and first twelve months exactly once. It is excluded from the renewal-year recurring figure so setup is not silently repeated every year.
The per-account figure divides recurring monthly cost by the number of hosted trading accounts. It is an allocation view only: MetaTrader hosting, third-party VPS licences and broker terms can constrain how accounts or terminals may actually be deployed.
Per-trade cost is shown only when a positive monthly trade count is entered. It spreads infrastructure cost across observations; it does not turn the VPS charge into an execution commission or prove that the trades depend on that host.
Worked example from the audited fixture
The audited fixture uses a USD 72 subscription covering six months, USD 20 one-time setup, USD 5 monthly add-ons, USD 120 annual software, three hosted accounts and 80 entered trades per month.
- The subscription contributes USD 12 monthly and annual software contributes USD 10 monthly. Adding the USD 5 monthly add-on produces a USD 27 recurring monthly equivalent.
- The first six-month term totals USD 182, the first twelve months total USD 344, the renewal-year recurring amount is USD 324, monthly cost per account is USD 9 and monthly cost per entered trade is USD 0.3375.
Reproduce it: select “Load audited example” above. The immutable fixture is recomputed from first-principles arithmetic rather than copied from a provider result.
How to interpret the result
- Compare plans on the same cost basis. A lower advertised monthly figure can omit setup, backups, licences, taxes or a longer commitment.
- Use first-term cost for near-term cash planning and renewal-year recurring cost for a steady-state comparison. They answer different questions.
- Treat per-account and per-trade amounts as allocation views, not evidence that adding accounts or increasing turnover improves value.
- Enter software and data costs only when they belong to this deployment. Do not double-count a licence already included in the subscription.
- Check the current renewal term separately. The calculator assumes the entered subscription price continues for comparison and cannot verify a later provider charge.
- Recalculate after a plan change, new account, licence renewal, tax change, migration, cancellation credit or altered trade-count definition.
Assumptions and limits
- The page does not fetch VPS plans, promotions, sponsored hosting, broker rebates, tax rates, refunds, free-time credits or currency rates.
- All entered costs must already use the selected display currency. No conversion occurs and the currency selector changes formatting only.
- CPU, memory, storage, operating system, terminal count, EA resource use, WebRequest, DLL and platform-migration constraints remain outside the arithmetic.
- The optional trade count does not distinguish orders, fills, positions, partial closes or transactions and is not read from a broker statement.
- Latency, uptime, disconnections, scheduled maintenance, data loss, slippage, requotes, fill rate and strategy results are not estimated.
- No VPS provider, location, plan, account count, automation setup, EA, broker or trade is recommended.
Which infrastructure calculator answers which question?
Batch 49 keeps cost, spread and time in separate models because one number cannot safely stand in for another. The VPS calculator normalizes entered expense, the spread calculator summarizes a same-unit price-width sample, and the latency calculator summarizes elapsed milliseconds. None converts its output into a broker, host or trading verdict.
| Tool | Primary input | Primary output | Hard boundary |
|---|---|---|---|
| VPS Cost | Entered subscription and related costs | Monthly, term, annual and allocation views | No provider or suitability verdict |
| Spread Statistics | One consistent pips or points sample | Centre, range, dispersion and R7 tails | No live quote or broker grade |
| Execution Latency | One consistent millisecond sample | Centre, range, dispersion and R7 tails | No fill, slippage or quality prediction |
Frequently asked questions
- It normalizes an entered subscription term, one-time setup, monthly add-ons and annual software or data cost. It also provides optional per-account and per-entered-trade allocation views.
- The subscription price is divided by billing months, then entered monthly add-ons and one-twelfth of annual software cost are added.
- First-year cost includes the entered one-time setup amount once. Renewal-year recurring cost excludes setup so it is not silently repeated.
- No. It is a formatting label only. Every entered cost must already use the same currency.
- The per-trade allocation is withheld because division by zero is undefined. Every other entered-cost output remains available.
- No. It does not assess CPU, memory, storage, operating system, terminal count, EA resource use, platform restrictions or support.
- No. Cost does not establish uptime, latency, fill quality, slippage, reliability, suitability or future returns.
- No. It uses only values entered locally by the user and does not fetch plans, promotions, taxes, credits, refunds or renewal charges.
