Entered

One completed bar per line. Commas, semicolons or tabs are accepted.

Fractals boundary: A marker is a strict local extremum in the entered five-bar window. It is not proof of a reversal, support, resistance, continuation or a trade setup.

How confirmed five-bar fractals are identified

Up at i when High[i] is strictly greater than High[i−2], High[i−1], High[i+1] and High[i+2]
Down at i when Low[i] is strictly less than Low[i−2], Low[i−1], Low[i+1] and Low[i+2]

Version 1.0.0 applies the standard five-successive-bar definition. Equal neighboring highs or lows do not pass the strict lower-high or higher-low requirement.

A center requires two completed bars after it, so the newest two entered rows remain pending. A wide center bar can independently satisfy both strict high and strict low conditions; the page reports both instead of forcing one label.

Assumptions and limits

  • At least five ordered high-low bars are required.
  • Rows must be oldest to newest and use one symbol, timeframe and feed.
  • The newest two entered bars cannot be confirmed because two later bars do not exist.
  • Tied highs or lows fail the strict five-bar test.
  • Markers are descriptive local extrema only; reversal, breakout, support, resistance and trade labels are withheld.

Worked example from the audited fixture

Reproduce it with “Load audited example”Among 11 entered bars, seven centers have two completed neighbors on each side. The fixture finds three up markers and two down markers across five total classifications. The latest eligible center is row I at index 8, classified up at price 14; the latest down marker is row G at index 6, price 5.

How to interpret the result

The final two bars remain unclassified because a five-bar center needs two later completed bars. A confirmed local extreme is only a strict geometric comparison inside this entered sample, not a reversal, support, resistance or entry signal.
