Broker-Step Order Splitter
Divide one entered total volume into balanced child orders that exactly reconcile on an entered broker minimum, maximum and volume step. The page plans order sizes but does not submit or sequence them.
Enter the volume and broker grid
Copy the volume minimum, maximum and step from the relevant broker symbol specification for the account and symbol you intend to use.

How total volume is split
Base child steps = Floor(Total step units ÷ Child orders)
Remainder steps are added one at a time to the earliest child rows
Minimum, maximum and total volume must all be exact multiples of the entered step on a decimal grid of up to eight places.
The feasible child-count range is bounded by the maximum volume per order, minimum volume per order and the 100-row page limit.
Worked example from the audited fixture
Split 1.00 lot into three child orders on a broker grid with 0.01 minimum, 0.50 maximum and 0.01 step. The result is 0.34, 0.33 and 0.33 lots: the children reconcile exactly to 1.00 lot, and the largest differs from the smallest by one 0.01 step. The feasible range is 2 to 100 child orders for these entered limits.
How to interpret the result
The example is an exact volume-grid partition, not an execution forecast. A broker may still reject a child order or fill children differently because the page does not check margin, aggregate directional exposure, liquidity, price, sequencing or server state.
Assumptions and limits
- The page does not retrieve or verify live symbol properties from a broker.
- It does not calculate margin, risk, price, spread, commission, slippage or execution priority.
- The maximum per-order volume is not the same as an aggregate directional volume limit.
- Every child order is treated as the same symbol, direction and intended entry context.
- Splitting an order can change charges, fill quality and trade-management complexity.
Frequently asked questions
- It is the permitted increment between position volumes for a specific broker symbol, such as 0.01 lots.
- An exact partition is possible only when the total itself can be represented as a whole number of entered step units.
- One extra step is added to the earliest child rows until every remaining step is assigned.
- The entered total may require more orders to stay below the maximum or fewer orders to keep every child at or above the minimum.
- No. It only returns an arithmetic plan from entered values.
- No. That property concerns aggregate directional exposure and requires current-position and order context that this page does not have.
- The page makes no fill or price assumption. Market liquidity, order type and execution conditions can produce different outcomes.
- Check the symbol specification in the exact platform, broker entity and account type you intend to use.
