User-grouped realized outcomes

Trade Performance Breakdown Analyzer

Compare counts, net and mean outcomes, win rate and profit factor across user-entered strategy, direction, symbol, timeframe, session or time-bucket labels. The page does not infer labels or identify a best group.

Enter grouped realized outcomes

Choose what the labels mean and place one group label and signed realized outcome on each line.

Entered

Use one account currency and one outcome basis. Labels are merged case-insensitively after whitespace normalization.

Grouping boundary: The selected dimension documents your labels only. The page does not derive month, weekday, hour, session, symbol, timeframe, direction or strategy from other data.

How grouped outcomes are summarized

Group net outcome = Sum of signed outcomes in the group
Group mean outcome = Group net outcome ÷ Group record count
Group profit factor = Gross positive outcomes ÷ Absolute gross negative outcomes

Exact zero outcomes remain breakevens. Win rate divides strictly positive outcomes by every entered record in the group, including exact zeros in the denominator.

A group with no negative outcome has an undefined profit factor rather than an infinite or substituted score.

Worked example from the audited fixture

Reproduce it with “Load example”The audited direction fixture enters Long outcomes of 120, −40 and 0 plus Short outcomes of 60, −90 and 150 in one currency. Overall net = 200 and mean = 200 ÷ 6 = 33.333333. Three positive rows out of six give a 50% observed win rate; gross profit 330 ÷ gross loss 130 gives profit factor 2.538462.

How to interpret the result

Long has net 80 and profit factor 3.0; Short has net 120 and profit factor 2.333333. Those descriptive differences do not rank either direction because each group has only three records and the page does not normalize exposure, risk, costs, timing or market conditions. Group labels and sample completeness remain user supplied.

Assumptions and limits

  • The page cannot confirm that labels, monetary units or outcome bases are comparable.
  • It does not adjust for deposits, position size, exposure, holding time, costs or risk differences between groups.
  • A group can contain only one record; its descriptive values then have no sample-depth assurance.
  • Multiple testing and selective grouping can create apparently strong segments by chance.
  • No output is a strategy grade, recommendation, significance test or future-performance estimate.

Frequently asked questions

  • You can enter strategy, direction, symbol, timeframe, session, month, weekday, hour or another consistently defined label.
  • No. It summarizes the labels you enter and does not infer time zones, sessions, months, weekdays or hours.
  • Leading, trailing and repeated whitespace are normalized, and labels differing only by letter case are merged under the first displayed spelling.
  • Strictly positive outcomes are divided by every entered group record, so exact zero outcomes remain in the denominator.
  • Its profit factor is undefined because the gross-loss denominator is zero. Other descriptive statistics remain available.
  • No. Use one account currency and one outcome basis across the complete comparison.
  • No. Unequal samples, risk, position size, changing conditions and selection bias can drive the difference.
  • No. It reports deterministic descriptive summaries and does not estimate confidence, causality or future persistence.
