R StocksTrader should not be selected only because it lists many instruments. The important question is what the specific symbol represents and which charges, financing and trading permissions apply. A familiar company name on the chart does not tell you whether you are trading a share or a CFD.
Identify the separate account
The official R StocksTrader page describes a browser platform and a USD 100 starting deposit. It also presents mobile access and a strategy builder. Those features are separate from the MT4/MT5 terminal workflow, so confirm the account type in Members Area rather than trying a MetaTrader server login.

Our RoboForex and RoboMarkets company guide addresses another source of confusion. Similar platform branding does not transfer an account, licence or client protection between legal companies. Use the company named in your own agreement and the provider’s actual platform entry route.
Prepare the account before an order
- Enter through the provider’s R StocksTrader route. Follow its account-opening or sign-in option, keeping it separate from a MetaTrader download.
- Confirm the selected account. Check whether it is demo or real, its currency and the applicable position-accounting choice.
- Build a short watchlist. Start with only the instruments you need to examine so that similar names do not obscure the contract choice.
- Read the instrument details. Identify the product type, trading session, order unit and applicable charges before entering volume.
- Practise in demo. Place and cancel an order, review a fill and inspect the position/history records before funding a live workflow.
The demo guide explains why successful practice is useful but does not reproduce live execution. Use the account comparison if you have not decided whether this platform fits your intended instruments.
A share and a CFD require different questions
| Question | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Is this a share, ETF or CFD? | Ownership, financing and corporate-action treatment are not interchangeable. |
| What is the order unit? | A share quantity is not a standard forex lot. |
| Is leverage involved? | Margin is only the security required, not the total position value. |
| What are the execution hours? | Being able to enter a request does not mean the market is open to execute it. |
| What are the holding charges? | A low opening charge may not describe a longer holding period. |
Check the product document and current symbol conditions rather than borrowing the terms of another line in the platform table. Some provider pages include older company-name or price illustrations; those examples are not current quotes and do not establish the terms of your order.
Calculate exposure before comparing fees
As a purely illustrative calculation, ten shares at USD 50 represent USD 500 of exposure before costs. A USD 1 move changes that position by USD 10 before charges. If the platform permits leverage, the margin reserved can be lower than USD 500, but the price exposure does not shrink with it.
Check the commission shown for the selected asset and order size, including any minimum. Do not import Prime or ECN forex turnover rates into an equity order. Read the trading-cost guide for the distinction between a charge per transaction, per share, per lot or per monetary turnover.
Also review currency conversion, financing and any corporate-action adjustment relevant to the product. Write down the cost basis for your intended holding period rather than choosing a platform on the smallest advertised spread alone.
Test position accounting and session behaviour
Practise what happens when you add to a position, partially close it and place an order in the opposite direction. The platform describes netting and hedging choices; the choice matters to how exposure is represented. Do not learn the difference by experimenting with a large real position.
Check whether a pending request waits for the next session, expires or is rejected. A market closure is not necessarily a login fault. Keep the exact message and symbol if you need the support guide; retain the account’s time zone in the record.
Use the strategy builder as a test environment
A graphical builder can express entry and exit rules without making those rules robust. Verify the condition sequence, position size, trade frequency and response to missing data. Test on periods not used to tune the rules and examine losing sequences as carefully as profitable examples.
Keep historical results separate from forward demo observation and both separate from real trading. The presence of a cloud or browser interface does not justify an unattended strategy without monitoring. Recheck open exposure before moving funds using the withdrawal guide.
Frequently asked questions
Is R StocksTrader the same as MT5?
No. It is a separate platform with its own account and instrument conditions. Follow the provider’s R StocksTrader entry route. Check the exact symbol and position-accounting behaviour there rather than transferring MetaTrader assumptions to a different interface.
Does every company-name symbol mean I own shares?
No. Confirm whether the selected instrument is a share, ETF or CFD and read the applicable product terms before ordering. Check contract size, currency, financing and the order confirmation; a familiar company name alone does not settle ownership.
What is the starting deposit?
The current provider landing page advertises USD 100 for R StocksTrader. Payment-method limits and the capital appropriate for a position are separate questions. A platform minimum does not establish that the planned exposure fits an affordable loss limit.
Can I use the forex commission from a Prime account?
Do not transfer it to a different product. Check the selected instrument’s actual commission basis, minimum charge, financing and currency costs. Record opening and closing costs on the same basis before comparing a share or CFD with a forex account.
Does the strategy builder prove a system will work live?
No. A rule builder and historical test are tools for investigation. Data choices, costs, execution and overfitting can make live behaviour different. Test how the rules handle orders, failures and position limits rather than treating an attractive test curve as a promise.
Sources and scope
Checked 15 September 2026. RoboForex Ltd public instructions and the platform documentation below inform this guide. Public pages and blank forms were reviewed; we did not open or fund an account, upload identity documents, place an order or test a withdrawal. Source conditions and the account-specific screen take priority where availability differs.
