JustMarkets MT5: Download, Login and Setup Checks

JustMarkets MT5 needs an MT5 trading account and its assigned server. Check the account’s entity, symbol specifications and order settings before trading; installing MT5 does not transfer an MT4 account or make every group company’s conditions available.

MT5 can display several kinds of trading records: an instruction, its execution and the resulting position. Understanding those records makes it easier to check whether an order actually filled and what exposure remains after a change.

Check the account before the download

The global account comparison offers MT5 alongside MT4, while the Cyprus offering has its own MT5 account and leverage conditions. Start with the company named in your agreement and the account comparison. If the agreement is with JustMarkets Ltd in Cyprus, use the EU account guide rather than importing global leverage or deposit figures.

An existing MT4 account cannot be converted into MT5. The broker’s platform-compatibility help says a separate trading account is required. Your old positions and trading programs do not migrate merely because you install a newer terminal.

Download and connect MT5

  1. For a Global account, open the official Global MT5 desktop download page. For another device or a different contracting company, use that company’s applicable platform route.
  2. Find your MT5 account number and server in Personal Area. Use the trading password set for that account, or reset it through the official account control.
  3. On desktop, use File → Login to Trade Account and select the matching server.
  4. Confirm the connected account number, currency and demo/real status before preparing an order.

The official MT5 walkthrough describes these controls and the different mobile screens. If you cannot connect, use the login troubleshooting guide before resetting unrelated credentials.

Read the contract specification, not just the chart label

In Market Watch, choose the account’s instrument and inspect its specification. Review the volume minimum and step, contract size, trading times and calculation rules. A symbol called gold or an index is not a universal contract with identical cash exposure at every broker.

Write down the intended order direction, volume, entry method and stop price before submission. Check the price units in the stop field. When the interface rejects a price or volume, read the error instead of rounding until the order happens to be accepted.

Our demo guide gives a rehearsal sequence. Use it to practise the same symbol and account setup you intend to understand, while recognising that simulated execution is not a live liquidity test.

Order, deal and position are different records

MetaQuotes’ MT5 documentation distinguishes an order, which is an instruction, from a deal, which is an execution, and a position, which is the remaining exposure. One order can result in more than one deal. Check the actual position and history rather than assuming a submitted order completed exactly as intended.

MT5 also supports different position-accounting systems, set by the broker for the account. Confirm how your account handles opposite orders. Do not assume a new sell always opens an independent position or always closes an existing buy. The current position list is the evidence of what remains.

Bulk-close controls deserve particular care on a small screen. Confirm the account and affected positions before using them, then check the resulting history. A convenient shortcut is not a substitute for knowing which exposure it will change.

A short troubleshooting sequence

  • No account connection: verify MT5 compatibility and the exact server before changing passwords.
  • Missing instrument: search Market Watch and confirm the symbol belongs to this account.
  • Rejected order: retain the message and check volume, price constraints, margin and the session.
  • Unexpected position result: inspect deals and the account’s position-accounting rules before submitting an opposite order.

If your tools or workflow specifically require MT4, compare the MT4 setup guide first. Choose the platform for the work you need it to do, not because the larger version number implies a better trade.

Frequently asked questions

Can I move my MT4 login to MT5?

No. JustMarkets documents separate platform accounts. Create the appropriate MT5 account and check its settings; installation alone does not move funds, positions or account history.

Are EU MT5 conditions the same as global conditions?

No. The Cyprus offering has separate account, deposit and leverage terms. Use the agreement and conditions for the company actually serving you.

Why does MT5 show several records for a trade?

An order is an instruction, a deal is an execution and a position is exposure. A single order can produce multiple deals, so use the position and history records to see what happened.

Can I assume opposite orders behave the same on every MT5 account?

No. Position accounting is set for the account. Check whether opposite trades reduce an existing position or can create separate exposure before using them as an exit.
