The current international FBS documents describe Standard and partner-access Cent accounts. Demo is a virtual-money practice account, while swap-free is an account setting with its own conditions. MT4 and MT5 are platforms. These labels answer different questions and should not be treated as four interchangeable account types.
This guide covers the FBS.com international service, identified as FBS Markets Inc. It does not apply its deposit amounts or leverage to the separate European service or to every country.

The account choices side by side
| Choice | What changes | Main condition |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | Ordinary account currency and standard lot units | Advertised funding from $5; method limits vary |
| Cent | Balance shown in cents and smaller lot equivalents | Legal terms require a partner referral route |
| Demo | Virtual funds instead of deposited money | Results do not establish live trading outcomes |
| Swap-free | Different overnight-charge treatment | Restrictions and potential exotic holding charges remain |
| MT4 or MT5 | Trading software and compatible account login | Choose the version your tools and instruments require |
The general conditions page supplies the public Standard offer. The January 2026 Trading Conditions separately contain Cent terms. An older comparison listing Micro, Zero Spread and ECN should not be copied into a current account menu without fresh evidence.
What the Standard account provides
FBS advertises floating spreads from 0.7 pips and no trading commission. The public order-volume range is 0.01 to 500 lots, with instrument specifications controlling the actual order you can place. That range does not make the maximum volume appropriate for a retail account.
The Standard account’s advertised forex leverage reaches 1:3000 for the lowest eligible equity tier. Higher equity tiers have lower maximums. Other asset classes also have their own leverage treatment. A platform setting is therefore only one part of the margin calculation.
A small deposit floor can be convenient, but minimum funding and sensible position size are separate decisions. Before opening an order, calculate the loss at your planned stop and allow for costs. The FBS leverage guide explains why higher leverage does not reduce that loss.
How the Cent account differs
A Cent account displays money in cents; the current symbol specification determines its contract size. A $10 deposit can appear as 1,000 cents. It has not become $1,000. FBS’s earlier Cent help described one Cent lot as equivalent to 0.01 Standard lot. That old help address now redirects to the Help Center, so confirm the current instrument contract size before relying on the ratio.
The current legal document describes a Cent initial deposit from $1, floating spreads from 0.7 pips and order volumes from 0.01 to 1,000 Cent lots in 0.01 steps. Its maximum leverage differs from Standard. Payment systems can still impose a higher transfer minimum.
Access is the important restriction: the document says a Cent account can be opened through a partner’s referral link. The presence of a general FBS affiliate link is not proof it is the required Cent-opening route. Confirm the available account menu and applicable terms before funding. Our Cent account guide explains the monetary conversion and eligibility check.
When to start with demo
Demo lets you practise with virtual funds. You can learn order entry, find symbols, check chart controls and verify whether your existing tools suit the chosen platform. It is particularly useful when changing between MT4 and MT5, since account logins and software compatibility need attention.
Choose a virtual starting balance that resembles the amount you are considering, rather than using a much larger balance that makes margin look easy. That is an educational comparison, not a promise that live trading will behave identically. Demo cannot reproduce the pressure of losing your own money.
FBS can archive or remove inactive demo accounts. Its public pages do not give one consistent lifetime across platforms. See the demo setup guide for the platform-specific caveats.
Swap-free is a setting with conditions
FBS’s swap-free help describes enabling the setting when opening a real account or later in account settings. It does not establish independent religious certification.
Some exotic positions held for longer periods can incur a fixed weekly charge. Read the instrument-specific treatment before choosing an account for overnight trading. The word “swap-free” should not be expanded into a claim that every possible financing or holding cost is zero. The Islamic account guide covers those checks.

How to choose and open the account
- Confirm your legal entity and residence. Begin with the company and restrictions shown in the official registration process.
- Choose practice or real funds. Use Demo if your immediate task is learning the platform.
- Check whether Standard or Cent is actually offered. Do not deposit first and assume the preferred type will appear later.
- Select MT4 or MT5. Match the platform to your indicators, Expert Advisors and required instrument list.
- Choose account currency and leverage carefully. Consider payment conversion and the exposure you plan to use.
- Review the account details. Save the account number, assigned server and trading credentials privately.
The documented Trader Area route is the account-number menu, then “Add new account,” followed by Real or Demo and the available account selection. FBS’s new-account help shows that sequence. The registration guide explains how the wider profile and email-confirmation process fit around it.

If the expected account is missing
First check that you are in the correct Trader Area and looking at the intended Real or Demo section. Then check country eligibility and any partner-access requirement. A platform choice or account label shown in an old screenshot is not proof it remains available to you.
If you already created an account, avoid opening duplicates to solve an unclear setting. Ask support which existing account is compatible and whether a new account is necessary. Never share a password or one-time security code in a public forum.
Frequently asked questions
Does FBS still have a Cent account?
The current international legal terms describe Cent accounts, with opening restricted to a partner referral route. Confirm access in your own account menu.
Are Micro and Cent the same thing?
No. A micro lot commonly means 0.01 Standard lot. An account named Cent uses cents and its own lot equivalents. Check the actual contract specification rather than relying on the label.
Is swap-free a separate platform?
No. It is an account setting affecting overnight treatment, subject to FBS’s terms.
Can the minimum deposit vary?
Yes. General account floors and payment-method minimums are separate. FBS’s help lists higher minimums for some payment systems.
Which account is best for beginners?
There is no universal best choice. Demo is useful for learning; a real account should be assessed by eligibility, lot units, costs and the risk of the intended trade.
