FBS Cent Account: Eligibility, Lot Sizes and Balance Units

Understand current partner-access FBS Cent conditions and how to convert cents and Cent lots before placing a trade.

FBS Cent account editorial guide cover

FBS still describes a Cent account in its international Trading Conditions. The important restriction is access: the document says it can be opened through a partner’s referral link. It is not safe to assume that an ordinary registration link will open Cent for every reader.

The other important difference is the unit. A Cent account displays money in cents; the current symbol specification determines its contract size. A larger-looking balance on the screen is not extra money. Understand both conversions before comparing it with a Standard account.

How the balance display works

If the account uses US cents, $1 equals 100 cents. A deposit of $10 therefore appears as 1,000 cents, and a displayed gain of 50 cents means $0.50. Divide the cents amount by 100 to express it in dollars.

The legal document specifically warns that MT4 and MT5 may not clearly label the balance as cents. That creates a practical risk when reading screenshots or recording results. Put the account unit in your trading journal and calculate in one consistent unit.

Displayed centsEquivalent US dollars
100$1
1,000$10
10,000$100

This is a unit-conversion illustration, not a funded FBS account or an earnings example. It assumes the account is denominated in US cents. Check the actual account currency before applying it.

Conceptual example: USD 10 equals 1,000 US cents. Balance units do not determine contract size.

How a Cent lot compares with a Standard lot

FBS’s earlier published Cent explanation described one Cent lot as equivalent to 0.01 Standard lot. Under that convention, 0.01 Cent lot equals 0.0001 Standard lot. The old help address now redirects to the Help Center, so this ratio has not been confirmed against a live account’s current contract specification. The smaller unit can make it possible to practise real-money order management with a smaller nominal exposure, but it does not remove trading risk.

The following table illustrates that earlier convention. Check the actual symbol specification before using the conversion for a trade.

Cent volumeStandard-lot equivalent
0.01 Cent lot0.0001 Standard lot
1 Cent lot0.01 Standard lot
100 Cent lots1 Standard lot

Use the instrument’s contract specification as the final check. Do not copy the numerical volume from a Standard account straight into Cent, or the other way round, and assume exposure is unchanged. Also check whether an indicator or Expert Advisor expects a Standard currency balance and lot size.

In particular, a percentage-risk tool may interpret balance and contract size differently. Inspect its calculation on demo where possible and compare the resulting monetary risk yourself. The account name is not a substitute for verifying the software’s output.

Does a $1 minimum mean any $1 payment works?

No. The legal account floor and the payment system’s transfer floor are separate conditions. FBS’s minimum-deposit help lists different minimums for Neteller, Skrill and Perfect Money, while the general Standard offer starts at $5.

If your available funding method requires more than the Cent account floor, the method’s limit still matters. Country eligibility, account availability, payment currency and any conversion also need checking. The deposit guide shows where those details appear.

How to check Cent eligibility

  1. Confirm the entity and country. This guide covers the FBS.com international documents. Read the company and residence restrictions shown to you.
  2. Confirm a qualifying Cent referral route. Ask the relevant FBS partner or FBS support whether the provided route opens this account type.
  3. Inspect the account menu. Look for Cent explicitly; do not infer it from a deposit amount or a large displayed balance.
  4. Check the platform and currency. Save the exact account number, server and monetary unit.
  5. Review the payment screen before funding. Confirm minimum, currency, charges and the later withdrawal route.
  6. Verify a small order’s exposure. Read the symbol specification and calculate the loss at the intended stop before submitting an order.

The ordinary FBS link on this page is not represented as a guaranteed Cent-opening link. We have not tested a logged-in Cent registration or a funded Cent trade. The registration guide covers the general process.

When Cent can be useful, and where it falls short

Smaller lot equivalents can help when a Standard account’s minimum volume is too large for a particular learning exercise. The important comparison is monetary exposure, not the number shown in the volume box. Smaller units also do not justify abandoning a stop or increasing risk repeatedly after losses.

Cent may be less suitable if the required instrument is unavailable, your software mishandles cents, or the qualifying route is not available in your country. Compare these practical requirements with the Standard account choices.

A demo account remains the place to learn unfamiliar controls without risking deposited money. Once real money is involved, the spread and holding costs still matter. The leverage setting changes margin, not the loss generated by a fixed exposure and price move.

Frequently asked questions

Is the FBS Cent account discontinued?

The current international Trading Conditions still describe it. Access is restricted to a partner referral route, so availability should be confirmed for your own profile.

Why does my $10 deposit look like 1,000?

In a US-cent account, 1,000 cents equals $10. The display is a different unit, not a larger deposit.

Is one Cent lot the same as one Standard lot?

No. FBS’s earlier published convention used one Cent lot as 0.01 Standard lot. Confirm the current contract specification rather than assuming the numerical volume is interchangeable.

Can I open Cent through any FBS link?

Do not assume so. The legal terms require a partner referral route. A general affiliate link does not itself prove access.

Is Cent risk-free?

No. It uses real money. Smaller lot units can reduce nominal exposure if chosen carefully, but leverage, costs and adverse price moves can still cause losses.
