A VPS is useful when a trading terminal needs to keep running while your own computer is off. It is still a computer that needs updates, monitoring and a working connection to the broker. I would evaluate the actual hosting specification and ongoing cost before treating it as an account-opening benefit.
What the advertised VPS offer requires

| Published international condition | What it means |
|---|---|
| USD5,000 combined month-end account equity OR USD10 million calendar-month volume | These are alternative qualifying conditions, not a requirement to satisfy both. |
| Verified Main Account and at least one funded trading account | The provider must still approve the application. |
| USD30 possible charge if conditions are missed | Check the applicable billing and deduction arrangements. |
| Third-party hosting | Read that provider’s terms and technical specification. |
The source is the current FXOpen international VPS page. Its equity and volume rules are separate from the ECN account opening minimum. Do not deposit extra capital or generate unnecessary trades simply to receive a hosting subsidy. Compare the possible $30 charge with the cost and risk of qualifying.
Resolve the hosting specification before applying
The public page still lists Windows 2012 alongside 2 GB RAM and 40 GB storage. We did not inspect a provisioned server or establish its current operating-system support and security-update arrangements. Those dated specifications need confirmation before the service can be recommended for a particular terminal or automated workload.
Ask which operating system is actually supplied, whether security updates are included, what CPU resources and backups are available, where the server is located, and how many terminal instances are supported. A marketing statement about low latency is not a measured latency result for your account.
Also confirm platform compatibility. Current international accounts centre on TickTrader; an old VPS page mentioning MetaTrader does not reopen international MT4 or MT5 availability. UK and EU users should check their own entity’s service terms rather than assume the international subsidy applies.
How to apply after those checks
- Identify the entity and account for which the service is available.
- Check whether the equity or volume condition is already met and how the month-end calculation works.
- Read the FXOpen and third-party terms, including billing, cancellation and access permissions.
- Use the application route linked on the official VPS page. That page says its application button accepts the displayed terms, so read them first.
- Wait for approval and the provider’s setup instructions. Receiving an application confirmation is not the same as receiving an active server.
- Connect through the supplied remote-access method, verify the server details and configure a supported terminal.
We have not submitted an application or logged in to a VPS. These are the documented application stages followed by a practical setup checklist, not a report of a successful installation.
Before letting an automated strategy run

Start on demo. Install only the software you are entitled to use and record the correct account, server and settings. Confirm that the program survives a terminal restart and that you can reconnect to the VPS after disconnecting your local device.
Most importantly, avoid running the same automated order logic on both the local computer and the VPS unless the strategy is explicitly designed for that arrangement. Duplicate instances can produce duplicate orders. Check how the system handles disconnections, rejected orders, updates and restarts, rather than assuming “always on” means fault-free.
Use alerts and review logs. Hosting does not repair an unprofitable strategy, and an internet or server failure can still interrupt operation. The trading tools guide covers software and connection checks in more detail.
Cancellation and stopping the service
The international page says a cancellation request should be sent by the 28th of the current month, with service ending at the start of the next month. It also describes possible automatic cancellation after three months of trading inactivity. Confirm the current terms and keep written acknowledgement.
Before shutdown, save configurations and required logs, stop or transfer any automation deliberately, and check open positions directly with the broker. Cancelling hosting does not itself close a market position. For a billing or access problem, use our support guide to find the official contact and provide the service reference and dates.
When the offer is useful
The offer may be worth investigating if you already qualify, need an independently running terminal and can verify a suitable current server. It is less convincing if you must change your deposit or trading behaviour solely to qualify. Compare that decision with the ordinary costs in the fees guide and the broader broker review.
Frequently asked questions
Is FXOpen VPS free for every account?
No. The international page specifies equity or volume conditions, approval and third-party terms. It says a USD30 fee may apply if the qualifying requirements are missed.
Must I meet both the equity and volume requirements?
The published wording uses OR: USD5,000 month-end equity or USD10 million calendar-month volume. Confirm how the provider calculates the condition for your account.
Does a VPS guarantee better execution?
No. We did not measure latency or uptime. Hosting, broker connectivity, liquidity and strategy behaviour are separate factors.
Can I cancel immediately without further charges?
Do not assume that. The published international page gives a request deadline of the 28th for service ending the next month. Check the current billing terms and obtain confirmation.
