Tickmill generally lists a $100 starting deposit, with currency variation. Confirm the method, wallet currency and verification status before sending funds.
Tickmill’s public minimum-deposit FAQ gives a $100 starting point, with variation by base currency. That is the short answer. The useful answer also checks the payment method, the wallet currency and how much risk the minimum order size would create. A broker’s entry threshold is not a recommendation for how much money to trade.
This guide covers the global public funding route. The options actually shown in your verified Client Area are more specific to your residence and entity. Start with country eligibility and verification if either is unresolved.
Minimum deposit versus minimum trade
| Item | What it tells you | What it does not tell you |
|---|---|---|
| Published starting deposit | $100, with base-currency variation | A suitable budget for your strategy |
| Method minimum | Amount accepted by the selected payment route | Whether the payment has arrived |
| Minimum trade size | The smallest permitted order for that contract | The maximum loss on the trade |
| Free margin | Funds available to support positions | The amount you should risk |
The minimum-deposit FAQ and account table should be read together. The table lists 0.01 lot as the minimum, but contract specifications and the instrument still matter. A small lot in one market is not the same cash exposure as a small lot in another.
For a hypothetical standard EUR/USD contract, 0.01 lot is 1,000 EUR and a one-pip move is $0.10 before currency conversion. A 50-pip stop represents $5 before costs and slippage. On a $100 balance, that is 5%. The minimum order may therefore be too large for a smaller intended percentage risk. Leverage does not remove that problem.
What the public funding table lists
The current deposit and withdrawal page lists bank transfer, cards, crypto payments, Skrill, Neteller and UnionPay, with country-specific availability. Most displayed methods use a 100 starting minimum; the UnionPay row gives its own currency wording. Confirm the amount displayed in your selected wallet rather than assuming every method supports your local currency.
Published instant-deposit labels describe the provider’s normal process. They do not cover every verification hold, bank rejection, network delay or payment mismatch. Bank transfer has a separate arrival estimate. Save the sender’s transaction reference and distinguish “sent by my bank” from “credited to my Tickmill wallet.”
Tickmill says deposits must come from payment methods in your own name. Additional card or source-of-funds checks may be required. These are practical reasons to finish identity verification and confirm the payment route before sending money.
How to deposit through the documented wallet route

- Open the official Tickmill website and enter your Client Area through its own login link. Avoid a payment address supplied only in a message.
- Select Deposit from the wallet panel or navigation. If more than one wallet is available, check its base currency.
- Choose an available payment method in your own name. Read its current minimum, supported currency, fees and processing information.
- Enter the amount and check any conversion. Make sure this is an amount you can afford to expose to CFD trading.
- Complete the payment provider’s confirmation. Save the reference, amount, currency and time in a private record.
- Check Transaction History and the wallet balance. If trading requires a transfer to the chosen trading account, verify that separate movement and the account number.
- Before placing an order, confirm the actual trading balance, free margin, contract size and account currency.
Those steps describe Tickmill’s public documentation, not an account we funded. Screen wording can change. If the payment succeeded at the sender but the wallet remains unchanged, do not keep submitting duplicate payments. Investigate the first reference.
Can depositing cost money?

A “no broker fee” statement does not eliminate bank, payment-provider or currency-conversion charges. Compare the amount sent with the amount received in the wallet currency. If you fund in a different currency, establish who converts it and at what rate.
Tickmill’s bank-wire reimbursement policy is narrower than “all transfers are free.” The public page says a single deposit of at least $5,000 or equivalent can qualify for reimbursement of transfer charges up to $100 or equivalent after proof is supplied. It describes reimbursement within one calendar month. Check current eligibility and retain the bank document.
That policy is not a reason to send a larger deposit. Increasing capital at risk to avoid a relatively small transfer fee can be a poor trade-off. Read all account costs and the withdrawal route before deciding how much to fund.
If a deposit fails or stays pending
| What you see | First check | Next evidence to request |
|---|---|---|
| Card declined | Expiry, available funds and issuer permission | Issuer decline reason |
| Sender shows completed, wallet empty | Currency, recipient and payment reference | Provider trace and broker reconciliation status |
| Wallet credited, trading account empty | Whether an internal transfer is required | Correct trading-account number and transfer status |
| Deposit or transfers restricted | Verification request or account notice | Written reason, missing documents and case reference |
Tickmill’s published card troubleshooting suggests checking details, validity, funds and whether the bank authorises the transaction. A restriction after payment is a different issue from a card decline. Ask support to identify which stage is blocked.
Send documents through the verified account channel and redact unrelated financial information where possible. Never disclose a PIN, CVV or full card number in an ordinary support message. Keep the explanation factual: date, amount, currency, reference, current status and the resolution requested. Our payment-problem guide explains escalation when an issue remains unresolved.
The decision after the money arrives
A successful deposit proves only that this funding step completed. It does not establish trading suitability, future withdrawal speed or the accuracy of an EA. Use demo practice for unfamiliar platform controls and decide your loss limit before the first live order.
The $30 Welcome Account has separate rules. Its qualifying wallet deposit should never be confused with depositing into the promotional account itself. Confirm which account you are looking at.
Frequently asked questions
Is Tickmill’s minimum deposit always $100?
The public starting point is $100, but the provider says it can vary by base currency. Confirm the amount shown for your account and payment method.
Does a deposit go straight to MetaTrader?
The documented route funds a wallet. Check whether you must then transfer funds to the selected trading account and verify that account’s balance.
Can someone else deposit for me?
Tickmill’s public funding rules require payment methods in your own name and reject third-party payments.
Are deposits instant?
Some methods carry an instant label, but bank arrival, verification and provider delays can differ. We have not measured deposit speed.
Is $100 enough to trade safely?
There is no universally safe balance. Compare your stop distance and minimum order size with the cash amount you are prepared to lose, including costs and slippage.
