A VPS keeps a trading environment running away from your own computer. It does not check whether an EA is safe, profitable or correctly sized. Choose the hosting type only after identifying the program you need to run and how you will monitor and stop it.
Separate the two offers

These are the provider’s current VPS conditions and the MT5 offer headline, not services we activated. Ordinary VPS volume excludes CFD instruments, including stock CFDs. Its network access is restricted to RoboForex investment resources, so do not assume arbitrary external services will work.
Choose the environment your software needs
A remote Windows desktop lets you manage a terminal through a remote session. MetaQuotes virtual hosting instead migrates the supported trading environment. The distinction matters if your program uses external libraries, scripts or other Windows applications.
MetaQuotes migration documentation says DLL calls and scripts are not supported in its virtual platform. Review the actual program dependencies before choosing sponsored hosting. A compatible indicator file alone does not establish that all of the strategy’s supporting programs will migrate.
Use the MT4 guide or MT5 guide to identify the correct terminal. A sponsorship for MT5 does not convert MQL4 code, and a phone used to monitor positions does not supply a desktop EA runtime.
Prepare an ordinary VPS session
- Read the current eligibility screen. Check equity excluding bonus funds and qualifying activity. Do not trade extra volume solely to chase a hosting discount.
- Apply through Members Area. The provider identifies the “Your VPS 2.0 server” area for requests. Confirm that a later message belongs to that request.
- Protect the access details. Treat the server address and credentials as private. Follow the provider’s remote-connection instructions for your device.
- Configure a single intended terminal. Confirm the trade account, server and symbol settings before adding automation.
- Test monitoring and shutdown. Know how to inspect logs and disable the program before leaving it unattended.
Keep a simple inventory of what you installed and why. Avoid unrelated software and unverified “optimisation” tools. If a required connection is blocked, ask the provider about its permitted resources rather than assuming the VPS is a general-purpose unrestricted server.
Prepare MetaQuotes virtual hosting
Start with the right MT5 account and a deliberately configured local environment. The MetaQuotes server-registration help describes the Sponsored plan as broker-dependent. Confirm the current RoboForex offer in your own account before assuming that selecting hosting creates a free entitlement.
Review the chart, symbol, EA inputs and intended trade permissions before migration. MetaQuotes warns that automated trading is allowed in the virtual environment even when disabled locally. Migration is therefore an operational change, not merely uploading a backup for storage.
After migration, request the virtual platform’s logs and verify what actually started. Avoid duplicate execution from both a local and hosted copy. If you change the local environment later, understand which configuration is currently active remotely and whether a deliberate resynchronisation is needed.
Understand the ordinary VPS billing window
For insufficient eligible volume, the ordinary service’s paid renewal uses the USD Wallet. The provider describes a charge attempt five days before month-end, with a final-day retry if funds are insufficient; activity in those final five days is excluded from that calculation. Access received after the 15th starts turnover accounting the following month.
Read the reactivation and refusal conditions before relying on continuous access. Keep the renewal date and current state in your own calendar. The time-limited MT5 promotion must be reviewed separately before its end date; do not assume it renews on the ordinary service’s terms.
Monitor the program, not just the connection
A connected server can still run the wrong account, wrong lot size or stale settings. Check the account identity, open positions, last relevant log entry and program state. Test the monitoring routine in a demo environment before committing real exposure.
If access fails, distinguish a trading-login problem from a hosting session or renewal problem. Contact the provider with the relevant times and error text using our support guide. Hosting availability is not a guarantee against losses, slippage or software defects.
Frequently asked questions
Are ordinary VPS and sponsored MT5 hosting identical?
No. They have different environments and conditions. Ordinary VPS is a remote desktop; MetaQuotes hosting migrates a supported MT5 trading environment. Check the selected offer's eligibility and fees instead of transferring a condition from one service to the other.
Does the ordinary VPS only require USD 300?
No. Read the detailed equity, eligible-volume and renewal rules together. The published equity condition excludes active bonuses, and free use has a qualifying activity requirement. Review renewal timing and the available wallet funds rather than relying only on the headline equity amount.
Can I run any Windows program on sponsored MetaQuotes hosting?
No. MetaQuotes virtual hosting is not an unrestricted Windows desktop. Its migration documentation prohibits DLL calls and scripts. Inspect the EA's dependencies before migration, because a program that needs an unsupported component may not run as expected.
Can I migrate an EA while assuming trading remains disabled?
Do not assume that. MetaQuotes says automated trading is allowed in the virtual environment; review every program and setting before migration. Inspect the migration logs and prevent a second local copy from placing duplicate automated orders on the same account.
Does a VPS make an EA profitable or safe?
