I would start an FXOpen comparison with the platform and the company named on the agreement. That sounds less exciting than a zero-pip headline, but it prevents an expensive mismatch. An MT4 trader cannot assume an international FXOpen account will run an existing indicator collection. Nor does a UK licence cover every customer using the brand.
The useful part of the offering is its published ECN pricing and range of trading interfaces. The difficult part is documentation that has not all moved at the same pace. Old account names, promotions and platform references remain online. This review separates current terms from that history and explains the checks I would make before committing money.
Who FXOpen may suit
FXOpen is worth comparing if you understand commission-based pricing, want to assess TickTrader, or qualify for a UK or EU account with the platform you already use. Published account tables give a starting point for evaluating costs. They do not prove that the broker is the cheapest for your particular symbol, time of day or holding period.
I would pause if your strategy requires an MT4 or MT5 program and you are considering the international entity. I would also pause if you need a current welcome bonus, expect all withdrawals to be free, or are relying on older Australian licensing claims. Those expectations need correcting before registration. For a beginner, a demo practice routine is a more useful first step than selecting the highest leverage.
Which FXOpen company would hold your account?

| Route | Legal identity | Practical distinction |
|---|---|---|
| International | FXOpen Markets Limited; Nevis registration C42235 | Corporate registration is not UK or EU financial authorisation. |
| United Kingdom | FXOpen Ltd; FCA reference 579202 | UK permissions and client classification apply. |
| European Union | FXOpen EU Ltd; CySEC licence 194/13 | EU entity terms and country eligibility apply. |
| Australia | FXOpen AU; former AFSL 412871 | Licence cancelled in 2024; provider says no new clients. |
The FCA register and CySEC entry identify the respective firms. Check the name, permitted activities and contact details against the agreement, particularly if somebody has approached you through social media. A clone warning about an impersonator does not mean the genuine registered firm is itself the clone.
ASIC’s cancellation and FXOpen AU’s own notice are a material change from old reviews. The Australia status guide explains the limited existing-client route. For an application elsewhere, use the country and entity directory rather than assuming one licence covers the whole group.
Current accounts and starting deposits

| Published ECN route | Opening minimum | Platforms on current account pages |
|---|---|---|
| International | $100 or equivalent | TickTrader |
| UK | £300, $300 or €300 | MT4, MT5 and TickTrader |
| EU | €300 or $300 | MT4, MT5 and TickTrader |
The December 2024 notice retired STP, Micro and Crypto accounts. Trading crypto CFDs where offered is a separate question from opening the old Crypto account type. An old $1 account headline is therefore a poor basis for evaluating today’s offer.
ECN commission tiers and NET/GROSS position accounting also matter. Read the account-type comparison before picking an option. A payment provider’s small transaction minimum does not reduce the trading account’s opening requirement, and meeting that requirement does not make a trade suitably sized.
Look beyond the minimum spread

Current international pricing advertises floating spreads from zero and tiered FX commission. Basic ECN lists 3.50 per standard lot per side in the currency specified by the schedule. For EUR/USD that is EUR3.50, so opening and closing one standard lot costs EUR7 in commission before the spread and any financing. It is easy to understate the bill by treating every pair as a USD commission or counting only entry.
The lower advertised tiers require qualifying equity or volume. There is also a material inconsistency between the public commodity commission tables. I would get the exact symbol tariff in writing rather than manufacture a universal gold commission from conflicting pages. Our fees and spreads guide shows the calculation and the questions to ask.
For position planning, use the lot size calculator with the correct contract assumptions, then compare the result with the terminal specification. A tight displayed spread is not a substitute for a stop-loss and exposure plan.
What the protections actually cover
UK and EU terms describe negative balance protection for retail clients. We did not establish an equivalent current promise for the international entity. Margin call and stop-out levels are account-control rules; they do not by themselves guarantee a maximum loss equal to the deposit. Read the leverage and margin explanation before treating either figure as protection.
For eligible UK investment claims after a firm failure, the FSCS limit is up to £85,000 per eligible person per firm. It does not reimburse poor trading performance. The EU fund’s published formula is the lower of 90% of covered claims or €20,000, subject to eligibility. Neither amount is a blanket promise that a trading balance cannot be lost. The dedicated UK and EU guides explain the entity-specific checks.
Check software compatibility before funding

The current international account table identifies TickTrader. FXOpen also stated in a dated June 2026 company response that MT4 and MT5 could not be offered by its international entity. Older platform-comparison pages and demo references do not override those current account restrictions.
TickTrader supports its own automation environment. An EX4 or EX5 file does not become compatible just because both platforms support bots. UK and EU users can consult the MT4 and MT5 guides. TradingView integration has historical launch material and current support references, but we have not verified account-specific eligibility or a live authenticated connection.
Deposits, withdrawals and dormant balances
The international funding page requires money to come from an account in your own name. Methods, fees and currency support must be checked in the actual client portal. Its same-business-day processing cutoff is a published service condition, not a promise that your bank will receive money that day.
Keep the deposit instructions and withdrawal checklist together: knowing how to fund an account is only half the task. The international-linked inactivity schedule also has charges that increase with prolonged inactivity. If you intend to stop trading, resolve the account and balance arrangements deliberately instead of assuming a login prevents fees.
How to read customer feedback
The Trustpilot profile combines reviews across FXOpen companies. The public feedback we read includes favorable service and withdrawal reports alongside complaints about platform access, conversion and payment routing. These are customer accounts of events; we did not inspect the underlying financial records or determine who was correct in a dispute.
The broker’s own carousel explicitly selects four- and five-star reviews. That selection cannot establish a representative withdrawal-success rate. We also found differing score snapshots across public surfaces, so this review does not assign a numeric house rating or treat an aggregate star score as proof of safety. Read recent detailed cases, identify the entity and consider the company’s response.
A practical way to make the decision
- Confirm the company and real country of residence using the entity directory.
- Choose a supported platform and the appropriate account model before installing trading software.
- Calculate the complete cost of a representative trade, including both commissions and holding costs.
- Practise the exact order workflow on demo and save the results, including errors.
- Read payment, inactivity and complaint terms before any live deposit. Do not base that deposit on an unverified bonus claim.
My assessment is conditional: the published ECN offering may fit an experienced trader, but the account entity and software requirements have to match first. FXOpen’s history and advertised spread do not remove those decisions.

Frequently asked questions
Is FXOpen regulated?
FXOpen Ltd is listed with the FCA and FXOpen EU Ltd with CySEC. The international Nevis company is a different entity. Check the company on your own agreement; group branding does not extend every licence to every customer.
What is the current FXOpen minimum deposit?
The published international ECN minimum is $100 or equivalent. UK accounts list £300, $300 or €300; EU accounts list €300 or $300. Payment-method minimums and suitable trading capital are separate questions.
Can international FXOpen clients use MT4?
The current international account table lists TickTrader, and a June 2026 company response says MT4 and MT5 cannot be offered by that entity. UK and EU account pages also list MetaTrader.
Did this review test a withdrawal?
No. We checked public terms, screenshots and customer-feedback limitations. We did not fund an account or measure a withdrawal.
Does FXOpen currently offer a no-deposit bonus?
We did not verify a generally available current offer with complete terms. Older STP welcome offers relate to a discontinued account type.
