A trading balance can look small in dollars and large in dong, while both figures represent the same assumed amount. Add a translated interface, several account types and a different server name, and it becomes easy to compare the wrong things. Work through one question at a time.
Public sources were checked on 7 September 2026. This is an English guide for readers researching Vietnam; it does not report a tested Vietnamese account, payment or withdrawal. The XM country hub and main XM review provide the related country and broker context.
What the Vietnamese website tells you, and what it does not
XM has an official Vietnamese-language website. The direct view retrieved for this guide identified Trading Point of Financial Instruments Limited in Cyprus and described EEA residents. An earlier search response showed different company information, which reinforces the need to check the documents applicable to your own account.
A Vietnamese page is evidence of language content, not proof of a Vietnamese licence or a particular resident’s acceptance. Likewise, a country option in a form does not complete an application. The contracting company and the applicable requirements need their own confirmation.
Step 1: Check the company behind the account
- Open the official website and read the legal company information for the service you are viewing.
- Find the agreement applicable to your account or application and compare the full company name.
- Record the document date and any notice changing the contracting company.
- If the website and account records differ, ask official support to identify the company responsible for your account and the applicable complaint process.
- Keep that response with your records and check local requirements separately before considering a transaction.
XM’s legal-document page says the documents relevant to an account are identified during registration. It does not establish a single worldwide company assignment. This guide has not independently confirmed a current account assignment for an individual Vietnamese applicant.

Local regulatory context needs a date
A Vietnam Government Office briefing published on 2 December 2020 records the State Bank of Vietnam Deputy Governor saying no forex investment platform had been licensed at that time. He also warned that participation supported unlawful activity. It is a dated general statement, not a new 2026 ruling naming XM.
Do not turn an offshore company licence into Vietnamese authorisation. Before considering real-money activity or a payment, obtain current guidance on the applicable service and your circumstances. This guide does not infer a current individual offence solely from an account’s existence, and it does not provide a route around local restrictions.
Our guide to choosing a broker explains why company identity, permitted activity and practical service terms all matter. A promoter’s claim that an app “works in Vietnam” is not a substitute for those checks.
Compare account terms without mixing currencies or products
Start with the account options actually applicable to your company and circumstances. The XM account-type guide helps interpret the differences, but no global table should be copied into a Vietnam application without checking its scope. This guide does not assign a universal deposit minimum, leverage limit or VND base-currency option.
| Detail | Check this before comparing accounts |
|---|---|
| Balance currency | Read the exact currency code and any unit description |
| Contract size | Establish what one lot represents for the selected symbol |
| Volume increment | Check the smallest permitted order and size step |
| Trading costs | Compare spread, commission and overnight charges for the same position |
| Margin rules | Distinguish required collateral from possible loss |
A chart labelled EURUSD tells you the instrument, not necessarily the currency in which the account reports profit and loss. The lot size is another separate unit. Write all three down before using a calculator or copying an example from a video.
Read the XM minimum-deposit guide if you are comparing opening thresholds. A payment-method limit, an account minimum and the cash needed for a realistic risk plan are different numbers. A low headline figure does not make a strategy suitable for a small balance.
Step 2: Prepare identity and address evidence clearly
- Read the document category, validity rules and file conditions requested in the official application or support case.
- Compare the full name, including diacritics where relevant, with the requested evidence. Ask how to enter a name if the form’s character rules differ.
- Check the current residential address, date of birth and document dates for consistency.
- Prepare a complete image of the original with readable text and visible edges. Avoid filters or edits that change the information.
- If a translated document or additional address evidence is required, establish the accepted format before paying for or submitting it.
- Keep the upload status and respond to the actual reason given if more information is requested.
This checklist does not establish acceptance of a CCCD, VNeID record, a particular bank statement or a particular translation. Those are account-specific questions. A file can be received without completing verification, so read the status rather than assuming upload success means approval.

If you have changed your name or address, explain the real sequence with relevant evidence. Do not create a second inconsistent profile to get past a difficult field. Official support can clarify a document question without receiving your password or one-time codes.
VND calculations: keep every zero attached to its unit
A useful worksheet includes the amount in dong and the account-currency equivalent, with the assumed exchange rate stated in words. That prevents a missing zero from quietly changing the intended budget. It also makes it easier to compare the worksheet with an actual account statement later.
For an illustrative demo example, suppose a reference budget is VND 24,000,000 and the invented rate is VND 24,000 per USD. Dividing 24,000,000 by 24,000 gives USD 1,000. An example 1% risk amount would be USD 10, equivalent to VND 240,000 at that assumed rate.

The currency converter can help check the arithmetic. A real transfer requires its own quote and permitted route. Do not assume the conversion rate in a planning example will be used by a bank, payment provider or trading account.
Step 3: Check a demo risk calculation before choosing volume
- Write the virtual balance and exact account currency on the worksheet.
- State the illustrative risk percentage or cash amount and calculate it in that same currency.
- Convert the result to VND only as a separate reference, using a clearly labelled assumed rate.
- Read the intended symbol’s contract size, minimum volume and volume increment.
- Calculate position size from the planned stop distance and compare the result with those limits.
- If the minimum permitted order is too large for the intended risk, change the exercise rather than making the stop unrealistically tight.
The lot-size calculator connects the cash-risk calculation to a proposed stop distance. It still depends on correct inputs. A formula cannot repair an incorrect currency code, contract size or symbol selection.
Do not treat a stop as a guaranteed cash loss in every market condition. Keep the planned amount, simulated result and any execution assumptions separate in your journal. Demo practice helps catch process mistakes; it does not verify live fills or profitability.
Funding questions: VND, local banks and wallets
This guide has not verified a particular Vietnamese bank, local QR method, MoMo, ZaloPay or VND base currency for an individual XM account. A domestic payment brand and a trading account are not automatically connected. A method’s availability would also be separate from whether the proposed transaction is permitted.
Check that question before any payment. Do not use a private collector, another person’s account or a misleading payment description to overcome a restriction. For an existing account, use the official support channel to understand the permitted handling of its funds and records.
Step 4: Review a quote or reconcile a past payment
- Establish the permitted service and payment route for your circumstances with the appropriate official parties.
- Record the total VND debit and the amount and currency credited to the trading account.
- Separate the conversion rate, stated transfer fees and any other charges rather than judging only a “free” label.
- Check the payment-account ownership rule, method limits and withdrawal destination.
- Keep the original reference and instructions. Ask official support about an unexpected beneficiary or unexplained difference before making assumptions.
When comparing costs, use the same final credited amount. Two payments described as USD 100 can cost different amounts in VND because the conversion rates or separate charges differ. Keep the quote date too, so a later comparison does not mix rates from different times.
Connect MT4 or MT5 to the correct server
Keep a private record of each trading account’s platform, number, server and currency. If you use both demo and real accounts, label them plainly. The website profile, a particular trading account and the chart symbol perform different jobs.
Step 5: Connect the account you intend to use
- Open the assigned MT4 or MT5 platform and its trading-account login.
- Enter your own account number and password.
- Select the exact server assigned to that account.
- Confirm the account identity, currency and demo or real status.
The basic fields are explained in MetaQuotes’ MT4 authorization documentation. Our XM MT4 guide, XM MT5 guide and XM demo guide provide the related platform steps.

For a connection problem, record the exact error text and when it appeared. Recheck the platform and server before changing other settings. Use official recovery if a password is uncertain, and remove account numbers and personal details from any screenshot shared publicly.
Withdrawals: build a record that follows the money
A submitted request, a completed provider review, a sent payment and an actual receipt are different milestones. Record each separately. That avoids treating a processing claim as a guarantee that funds have arrived at the final destination.
Step 6: Prepare an existing withdrawal or support case
- Gather the original funding reference, account currency and amount credited.
- Record the withdrawal reference, amount, destination and submission time as a separate transaction.
- Check the current status and whether documents or clarification are outstanding.
- Ask official support which stage is incomplete and what action or trace information is available.
- Compare any sending reference with the receiving institution’s records through its official channel.
- Once received, reconcile the final VND amount, conversion and separately stated fees, and retain the statements.
Use the XM withdrawal guide and our broker-withdrawal checklist to organise the case. If legal or tax questions arise, accurate statements and dates help a qualified local adviser assess the situation. This guide does not assign a Vietnamese tax rate or guarantee a recovery outcome.
Frequently asked questions
Does XM have a Vietnamese website?
Yes, XM publishes Vietnamese-language content at its official Vietnamese route. The direct response checked for this guide identified a Cyprus company serving EEA residents. Language therefore does not establish a Vietnamese licence, a current account assignment or an individual applicant’s acceptance.
Is XM licensed in Vietnam?
This guide has not established a Vietnamese XM licence. It cites a Government Office briefing published in December 2020 that said no forex investment platform had been licensed at that time. That historical general statement should not be represented as a new XM-specific decision in 2026.
Can I deposit using a Vietnamese bank or wallet?
No particular bank, QR service, MoMo or ZaloPay option was verified for an individual account here. Check the current official account requirements and the permitted status of the transaction separately. Do not rely on a private payment collector or another person’s account as a workaround.
Can my XM trading account use VND?
That option has not been independently confirmed for an individual account. Read the actual currency code and balance unit. A payment debited in dong can still credit an account in a different currency, so compare both amounts and the stated conversion costs.
What Vietnamese documents are accepted?
Use the document categories and conditions requested for your particular application or support case. This guide does not guarantee that a CCCD, VNeID record or bank statement is sufficient. Check full names, diacritics, current address, dates and image clarity before using the official secure channel.
Why is my withdrawal shown as sent but not received?
Sending and final receipt are separate stages. Keep the request reference, currency and destination details, then ask official support for appropriate tracing information and compare it with the receiving institution. A status label alone cannot establish the final arrival time or explain every conversion difference.
Forex and CFD trading carries a high level of risk and may not be suitable for all traders. This guide is educational. Past performance does not guarantee future results. Always test on a demo account before risking real capital.
