A forex deposit bonus adds a defined promotional benefit after an eligible deposit and any other required steps. Before evaluating the percentage, find out whether the benefit is withdrawable cash or restricted trading credit. Then read how a withdrawal, transfer or expiry can change it.
The account still needs to fit your trading and budget. Use the broker selection checklist to compare the provider and ordinary costs. A promotion should be an additional consideration, not the reason to deposit more than you can afford to lose.
How do you calculate a deposit bonus?
Use the exact formula and remaining cap in the matched terms. For a simple percentage programme, a useful calculation is the eligible deposit multiplied by the applicable rate, limited by any remaining allowance. Tiered or repeated-deposit programmes may need a different calculation.
Fictional teaching example: suppose a programme grants non-withdrawable credit at 25%, with $100 of allowance remaining. A qualifying $200 deposit would produce $50 of credit because $200 × 25% = $50. The $250 combined amount is not $250 of withdrawable cash.

This is not a current broker offer. It assumes eligibility, unused allowance and no trading or charges. Compare the main forex bonus types if you need to distinguish deposit offers from rebates or rewards.
What happens to credit when you withdraw?
Read the programme’s withdrawal rule rather than assuming the credit stays. To continue the fictional example, suppose its rule removes the same percentage of credit as cash withdrawn, with no open positions, profit, loss or costs.
| Calculation | Result |
|---|---|
| Withdraw $50 from $200 cash | 25% withdrawn |
| Remove 25% of $50 credit | $12.50 credit removed |
| Cash left: $200 − $50 | $150 |
| Credit left: $50 − $12.50 | $37.50, still non-withdrawable in this example |
The $12.50 is removed promotional credit, not an additional cash withdrawal fee in this illustration. Real policies may treat transfers, floating profit or loss and ineligible receiving accounts differently. See the broker withdrawal guide for the separate request and payment stages.
What should you confirm before depositing?
- Company and residence: identify the account provider and the current offer for your actual circumstances.
- Account eligibility: check whether the account you prefer can participate and whether its ordinary charges differ.
- Claiming order: establish whether verification or an opt-in must happen before funding.
- Calculation: record the eligible deposit, currency, rate, tiers and remaining allowance.
- Payment quote: compare the total bank debit with the net account deposit, separately from promotional credit.
- Removal and expiry: understand the effect of withdrawals, transfers, inactivity or the programme ending.

A documented example can help explain the questions. The published XM Global deposit-bonus terms include account exclusions and proportional credit-removal rules. Our XM deposit-credit example and conditions explain that specific document without treating it as a current worldwide offer. Do not apply either its rules or this page’s fictional numbers to another programme.
Does extra credit mean you should trade more?
No. Margin available and money you can afford to lose answer different questions. Increasing position size changes exposure even when the broker allows the order. Read what margin means and choose risk before selecting a trade size.
The position-size calculator can help with entry, stop and risk inputs; it does not validate bonus eligibility or guarantee a fill. If your objective is a programme without a qualifying deposit, use the separate no-deposit bonus guide.
Deposit bonus FAQs
Is the first deposit always the only qualifying deposit?
No universal rule applies. Read whether the programme covers first, subsequent or selected deposits, and how its allowance is used.
Can I withdraw my deposit immediately?
Check account and payment requirements, available funds and the specific promotion terms. Do not infer immediate withdrawal eligibility from a credited deposit.
Is a 100% credit bonus the same as doubling my cash?
No. A percentage does not tell you whether the benefit is cash, whether you qualify or when it can be removed. Restricted credit remains subject to its rules.
