Access to an XM page does not establish that a Bangladesh-issued international card can fund forex trading. Bangladesh Bank’s 14 November 2019 circular explicitly includes forex trading among prohibited online-payment purposes. Check the current rule with your issuing bank and identify the actual XM contracting company; neither Bengali content nor an old promotion answers those questions.
If you searched for “XM Bangladesh deposit”, start with the payment purpose rather than the button on a broker’s website. A card can work for some overseas purchases and still be restricted for a different activity. That distinction matters more than a tutorial showing a successful transaction in another country.
What the Bangladesh Bank circular actually covers
FE Circular Letter No. 26, dated 14 November 2019, addresses international-card online payments. Paragraph 2 lists forex trading among prohibited purposes. Its subject is the use of that payment channel for those activities. It is not a finding about every Bangladeshi citizen abroad, every financial product or every possible transfer.
The circular is a dated primary source, not a claim that this article has reviewed every later Bangladesh Bank amendment. Ask the issuing authorised-dealer bank which current circular applies to the exact proposed transaction. A declined transaction is not a reason to change the payment description or try another person’s card.

Step by step: check the claim before acting on it
- Open the original circular. Check its date, subject and paragraph 2. Keep the document URL with your notes so a bank employee can identify the same text.
- Write down the actual situation. Record current residence, the country that issued the card and the purpose of the proposed payment. Do not substitute citizenship for residence.
- Identify the broker company. Use XM’s legal documents and the agreement offered for your actual circumstances. Record the complete legal name and the regulator named in that agreement.
- Ask the issuing bank a specific question. Give the genuine merchant and payment purpose. Ask for the current applicable rule, not simply whether the card supports international purchases.
- Keep the answers separate. A broker’s account-eligibility reply and a bank’s payment-purpose reply address different matters. One cannot replace the other.
What to record on the XM side
| Item | Where to check | What it tells you |
|---|---|---|
| Full contracting company | The agreement applicable to the account | Which company would provide the service |
| Actual country of residence | Your own current records and the account application | The circumstances that the eligibility answer must address |
| Product and account type | Account terms and specifications | Whether the answer concerns leveraged forex, another derivative or a different service |
| Permitted payment purpose | Issuing bank and applicable Bangladesh Bank guidance | The payment question; it is not answered by a broker licence |
A Bengali website is useful for language access. It is not evidence of Bangladesh licensing or a particular entity accepting every resident. An expired Bangladesh promotion establishes historical marketing only. The main XM review explains the group and product differences; this country guide keeps the local card question in view.
XM Bangladesh bonuses: what would count as evidence?
A bonus headline is not enough to establish an offer for a Bangladeshi resident. The relevant evidence is a current offer displayed for the actual account, its named provider, eligible account types, country conditions and complete terms. We have not verified a country-specific amount or a lawful funding route for this guide.
Before valuing any credit, establish whether it is withdrawable money, trading credit or a different reward. Check what happens after a withdrawal, internal transfer or account change. The XM bonus guide owns the programme mechanics. The spreads and fees guide explains trading costs that a headline credit figure does not remove.
A useful question for your bank
“I hold a card issued in Bangladesh. The proposed merchant is the company named in this agreement, and the payment purpose would be funding leveraged forex trading. Which current Bangladesh Bank rule applies to this purpose? Please identify the relevant circular and any documentation requirement.”
This is an information request, not an instruction to attempt a transaction. Do not include your full card number, security code, password or one-time code in an ordinary email. If your bank needs identification, use its verified secure channel.
If you already have an account or an unresolved payment
Start with records rather than another deposit. Save the broker account reference, company name, payment date, currency, bank reference and any rejection message. Mask sensitive details in screenshots. Ask the bank to explain the transaction status and the broker to identify the entry on its own ledger.
A bank debit, a pending card authorisation and a credited trading balance are different records. Do not assume that a screenshot of one proves the others. The XM funding guide helps distinguish the amounts, while the withdrawal guide explains the records to collect when a payment has not arrived. Neither guide establishes permission to use a restricted payment purpose.

Common questions
Does an international card mean forex deposits are permitted?
No. International purchasing capability does not override a restriction on the purpose of a payment. Read the circular and ask the issuing bank for the currently applicable rule.
Does XM offer bKash or Nagad in Bangladesh?
This review has not verified an official, eligible account-specific route for either service. A third-party payment tutorial is not sufficient evidence, and this guide does not recommend workarounds.
Can a Bangladeshi citizen living abroad use the same answer?
Not automatically. Residence, the issuing country of the payment instrument and the relevant product can change the question. Use your actual circumstances when seeking an eligibility answer.
Is this an XM acceptance list?
No. Current resident acceptance and the assigned company have not been established here. The XM country directory links to the separate guides and their stated scope.
