For XM in Iraq, verify three separate parties: the company in the trading agreement, any local representative and the institution handling a payment. The Central Bank of Iraq’s December 2024 warning says it does not issue the trading-company licences described in that notice. A claimed CBI licence or a regional XM page is not enough to establish broker permission, resident eligibility or a supported payment route.
A local contact can make a service feel familiar. The useful question is what that person or business is authorised to do, and which company actually holds the trading relationship. Keep those details separate from the bank or exchange company that may appear on a payment record.
Read the CBI warning in its proper scope
In its 16 December 2024 warning, the Central Bank of Iraq addresses trading companies and false claims of CBI licensing for the activities described, including stocks, metals and crypto. It is a general warning, not an XM-specific notice. It should not be expanded into a claim that no other Iraqi authority has a role in any securities activity.
For an XM question, the practical lesson is to ask for a verifiable company, regulator and authorised activity. A licence image sent in a chat is not a substitute for the issuing authority’s record. If the company name on that record differs from the account agreement, the mismatch needs an explanation.

Step by step: separate the parties
- Name the broker. Open the applicable XM agreement and record the complete legal entity, address, governing terms and official contact route.
- Name any representative. Ask what legal business they represent and what their role covers. Introducing a customer is different from holding customer money or providing regulated advice.
- Verify a licence claim. Compare the company and activity with the issuing authority’s own record. Read the CBI warning if someone claims that CBI licensed the trading service.
- Identify the payment institution. Use the legal name on the actual bank or transfer documentation. Do not substitute the broker’s brand.
- Resolve the unanswered fields. Ask the relevant bank, regulator or broker through its verified channel. Do not treat a payment intermediary’s existence as proof that a particular broker transfer is permitted or supported.
Why dollar-transfer information needs its own check
The CBI publishes information about institutions restricted from US-dollar dealing, including a 22 February 2026 notice. Check the latest applicable record for the actual institution concerned. A restriction on a named institution is not an XM account-allocation result, and absence from one list is not positive approval for every transaction.
This guide has not tested an Iraqi bank, card or local transfer service with XM. It therefore does not list a named payment method as available, quote a local settlement time or present a successful deposit screenshot from another country as an Iraqi result.
Build a payment record that support can investigate
| Record | Keep | Avoid assuming |
|---|---|---|
| Broker ledger | Account reference, currency, entry status and transaction reference | That a pending request means money was sent |
| Bank or transfer receipt | Institution, date, amount, currency and trace reference | That an intermediary receipt proves broker credit |
| Currency conversion | Debited IQD amount, credited currency, rate and separately stated fees | That a published exchange rate equals the executed conversion |
| Support correspondence | Case number, response date and exact unresolved question | That an informal agent message changes the contract |
Different currencies make reconciliation harder. Compare the actual debit and credit records before attributing a difference to a broker fee. The XM fees guide separates trading charges from payment and conversion costs. The funding guide explains account-currency and credited-amount questions without claiming an Iraq-specific route.
Does the XM MENA or Dubai website establish Iraq acceptance?
No. Regional information can help identify a group service, but a regional label does not assign an Iraqi resident to a particular contracting company. A Dubai licence also does not automatically establish local Iraqi permission. Ask for an answer based on actual residence, citizenship where relevant and the specific product.
The global XM review explains the group context. For this country guide, current Iraqi resident acceptance, the account company and local authorisation remain unverified. That uncertainty should be resolved with evidence, not replaced with a universal “accepted” or “banned” label.
XM Iraq bonus questions
Before discussing benefits, establish whether a current programme applies to the actual account. Record the provider, account type, eligible country conditions and offer date. This research does not verify an Iraq-specific bonus amount or a payment method that would qualify for it.
A credit balance can have different withdrawal and transfer rules from deposited funds. Read the removal conditions before valuing the offer. Use the XM bonus guide for that distinction, and keep copy-trading eligibility separate: an offer for an ordinary trading account does not prove it can be transferred to an investor account.
For an unresolved withdrawal
Ask the company named in the agreement whether the request is pending, reviewed, rejected or sent, and what reference it can provide. Ask the receiving institution whether it can trace that reference. The withdrawal guide explains this handoff between two records.
Do not send passwords or one-time codes to a local contact claiming to accelerate a payment. Preserve the official case number and any requested documentation, using a verified secure upload route where one is required. A new deposit should not be treated as the default solution to an unexplained payment delay.

Common questions
Is the CBI warning specifically about XM?
No. The cited warning concerns the licence claims and trading activities it describes. This article uses it to explain how to assess such a claim.
Does an exchange company’s licence validate the broker?
No. A payment business and a trading provider perform different activities. Each relevant company and service requires its own check.
Can I use a regional promotion as proof of an Iraqi bonus?
No. Check current terms for the actual account and country. Historical regional marketing does not establish present eligibility.
Where are the other country guides?
The XM country directory separates local questions so a payment instruction or entity statement is not silently transferred from another country.
